Like any hobby or sport, there is some basic terms you will need to learn. I'm not going to get into them here since there are so many websites with that information already.. No reason to re-invent the wheel. One that I like is here on Tower Hobbies.
There are many options as to what aircraft to start with. These options change almost daily it seems. My best suggestion would be to come out to the field and sit and talk with the pilots that are there. Another option is to stop by Glenn's Hobby Corner located in Rosewood and talk to Glenn. He has many years of experience and he has most of the better trainers in stock so you can look at them in person.
Once you have made that choice you will need to get up with an instructor. We have several pilots that can help you learn to fly as well as teach you the saftey rules as well as help you select additional equipment you may need.
